Graduation
The final examination consists of the writing, presentation and discussion of a report (graduate paper) related to the activity carried out during the internship. The final examination activity is thus distinct from the internship activity and confers an additional 3 CFU (75 hours).
Deadline
For the academic year 2024 - 2025, graduations will be held in the following periods:
First period: graduations from Monday, February 17, 2025 to Thursday, April 17, 2025
Application for graduation: from Monday, November 18, 2024 to Tuesday, January 21, 2025
Second period: graduations from Wednesday, June 18, 2025 to Friday, July 25, 2025
Graduation application: from Monday, February 24, 2025 to Tuesday, May 6, 2025
Third period A: graduations from Monday, September 1, 2025 to Saturday, October 25, 2025
Graduation application: from Wednesday, June 18, 2025 to Tuesday, July 15, 2025
Third period B: graduations from Monday, November 3, 2025 to Saturday, December 13, 2025
Graduation application: from Monday, August 18, 2025 to Tuesday, October 7, 2025
Apply for graduation on UNIWEB
Before applying for graduation, you must:
- have taken all the examinations stipulated in your study plan at least fifteen days before the start of the graduation appeald and that your study plan is in the "approved" status;
- be in good standing with the payment of fees;
- comply with the dates and manner of delivery of the dissertation.
Failure to pay the stamp inherent in the graduation application will prevent the verbalization of profit assessments. Please note that once the graduation application is completed on Uniweb, the degree plan cannot be changed.

Payment of fees
To graduate, you must pay fees according to the graduation period.

Discussion of the thesis paper
The final examination consists of the presentation and discussion of a paper, prepared under the supervision of a reference professor, which will be conducted in 2 different moments:
- DISCUSSION: Submission to the professor of reference of the written report (thesis) describing the activities attended or carried out during the internship and 6 slides summarizing the main points of the written paper. The thesis is deemed to demonstrate critical ability as well as full comprehension of the activities attended or performed during the internship. Presentation of original results is not mandatory. The final thesis must be written and discussed in English and a short summary (3-4 pages) in Italian must also be prepared.
- GRADUATION CEREMONY: DDuring the graduation ceremony, the student must present a summary of the experience performed, using a single slide. The file with the presentation can be submitted on the day of the discussion on a USB stick.
Final graduation mark determination
The final graduation mark is given on a basis of 110th and consists of the sum of:
- the weighted average of the exam marks (WA), including the free elective exams autonomously chosen by the student, weighted with the assigned credits (ECTS) and related by 110, according to the following formula: (Σ exam mark x ECTS / Σ ECTS) x 110/3
- the increase of the mark, given on a basis of 110th as well, according to the following table:

* For Final Exam taken within December in the third academic year from the University enrolment.
The Reference Professor shall make the proposal of the possible award of honors (lode).
he Preparatory Committee may award honors to students who achieve a final score of 111 or higher and at least two exams with a grade of 30 cum laude. The rounding is done only once, at the end of the sum itself and is calculated by the immediately higher unit if the first decimal is equal to or higher than 5, otherwise by the lower unit.
Certifications and diplomas
Diplomas are usually handed out during the graduation ceremony (proclamazione); if for some reason the diploma is not available that day, you can submit a request for shipment. All information suno be available on following page.

Environmental Health Curriculum
Students enrolled to the curriculum “Environmental health” held at the University of Bologna must follow the same procedures of students enrolled to the curriculum “Human health” held in Padova. Only the discussion will take place in Bologna according to Reference professors availability, while the graduation ceremony will be common for both curricula, according to each session calendar.
