Study Plan

Italian version

The study plan is the complete list of exams that students must carry out in order to earn the credits (CFU/ECTS) required to graduate.

  • For 1st and 2nd year of enrollment in BHEH (for both curricula): all activities are mandatory, students will automatically find their mandatory teaching activities uploaded in their booklet. The Study plan is “STATUTORY/STATUTARIO”: you DO NOT have to fill in your study plan.
  • For the 3rd year of enrollment in BHEH (both curricula) each student can choose two free choice activities among those listed, choosing whether to submit an automatically approved plan or one submitted for approval.

The submission of the study plan in both cases is COMPULSORY. Please be aware that you cannot take an exam if you have not submitted your study plan and/or it has not been approved yet.

You can change your study plan throughout the year according to the specific submission periods until you register for graduation. Please note that once the graduation application on Uniweb is completed, the study plan can no longer be modified.

More information

  Curriculum Human Health (Padova)

  • Automatically approved study plan: mandatory activities of the 1-2-3 years + elective activities specifically held for the curriculum (only in Padova).
  • Proposed study plan: mandatory activities of the 1-2-3 years + elective activities chosen among the whole University of Padova (Bachelor’s degrees only) AND the elective activities of both curricula.

To ensure you make the most of the flexibility given by the elective activities, we suggest you to approach this process with the utmost responsibility and foresight.

When proposing your choice, you are required to:

  1. Thoroughly review the course program: Analyze the topics, objectives, and methodologies to understand how the course aligns with your interests and career aspirations. The elective must complement and enhance your knowledge in areas related to human and environmental health.
  2. Identify your motivation: Clearly articulate how the selected course complements your academic path in the BHEH program and supports your future professional goals.
  3. Provide a rationale: Demonstrate how the course content enhances your knowledge and skills, offering tangible benefits for your career or further studies.

Elective courses should not only enrich your academic profile but also reflect a well-thought-out plan for your personal and professional growth. Failure to provide a clear and substantiated motivation for your selection may result in the rejection of your proposal. We encourage you to seek advice from your academic advisor if needed.

The Teaching Commission will evaluate your request and give you a feedback via email. You will be able to fill in the study plan, adding the requested course, in the following submission period.

  Online teaching

Students who choose optional activities delivered at a location other than their own (Padova or Bologna) must check in advance with the lecturer that it is possible to record and to give access to the lecture materials online (on moodle) and check that the class timetable is compatible, should they wish to attend in person. Teaching delivered in dual synchronous mode is not allowed for the whole course.

  CFU for elective activities

Students can choose elective activities from a minimum of 12 CFU up to a maximum of 16 CFU. If you wish to add more activities for academic interests of for job or application purposes, then you need to add a “surplus exam” to your booklet.

  Language of elective activities

Students can choose an elective course held in Italian by submitting a proposed study plan, which will be evaluated by the professor in charge. Please note that it could be rejected if not consistent with the study path.

Elective activities of master’s degree programs

Students of both curricula are not allowed to take exams of Master’s degree programs. If you wish to take a Master’s exam, you have to take it as a surplus exam.

  Attività sovrannumerarie/surplus exams

A “sovrannumerario" course is an extra exam excluded from the GPA for graduation, but it will appear in the final transcript of records. You can add a surplus exam in your booklet in order to be able to register for examinations. Please check the entry requirements in the syllabus, then follow the instructions available here.

  Submission periods and graduation application

Students can submit the study plan during the available periods (usually in November and March/April). If you have chosen activities but then changed your mind (the timetable does not allow you to follow the lectures, the topics are different from what you expected, you have found another course that interests you more...) you can change the curriculum even if the semester has already started. The study plan can no longer be changed after the graduation application has been submitted.

  OFA

The OFA (Obbligo Formativo Aggiuntivo) is assigned only to enrolled students who have obtained a weighted score lower than 17/41 in the English-TOLC-I. The OFA is not part of your study plan, but you will find it in your booklet in order to let you register for the assessment test.
